Intertek wins LNG cargo inspection service contract for the newly built terminal in Poland
Warsaw, Poland – Intertek, a leading quality solutions provider to industries worldwide, has won the LNG cargo inspection service contract for the newly built terminal in Poland and first two technical cargo inspections to launch the installation.
Intertek was recognised for commitment, professionalism, good communication, responsiveness and success of technical service support to the Energy sector. Intertek convinced the Polish Oil and Gas company to be the best choice for the LNG cargo service in the country without any previous experience in the field.
Poland’s first liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal build in the Baltic city of Swinoujscie accepted its first gas delivery from Qatar in December 2015.
Intertek Global LNG has been in contact with Polish Oil and Gas for at least 2 previous years and monitored the progress of the LNG Terminal construction. It is the first LNG Terminal in Poland, that means no LNG inspectors and experts available in the country. Intertek convinced Polish Oil and Gas that, as an expert in the field, is the best option for the two first commissioning cargos. In fact our inspector and an expert supported LNG Terminal in the process of the first LNG cargo unloading and offered our technical support during the 9 days of the system cooling-in and then unloading of the liquid gas in December 2015. We have already received the second assignment for commissioning LNG cargo scheduled in February 2016.
This inspection service allowed us to launch the new BL in Poland – Commodities and extended our Global LNG inspectors team by 2 new local inspectors.
